Willie Bottin

Willie Carl Bottin, the son of Walter H. and Irene (Johnson) Bottin was born on March 26, 1921, in Kimball Township, Jackson County, MN. He was baptized on April 17, 1921, and confirmed in his faith on April 28, 1935, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township, and this is where he remained a life long member. Willie received his education at a country school near his home. Willie served his country in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. On April 14, 1951,Willie was united in marriage to Naomi Ruth Porisch at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Parsonage. They made their home and farmed together south of Mountain Lake, MN. Willie loved farming, and it was both his profession and his hobby. Willie Bottin died on Saturday morning, January 7, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake, MN. Willie is survived by his wife, Naomi Bottin of Mountain Lake, MN; a son, Eugene and his wife Betty Bottin of Windom, MN; five daughters, Cheryl and her husband Charles Engeman of Cleveland, OH, Joyce and her husband Todd Proechel of Waseca, MN, Eileen Nesmoe of Jackson, MN, Cindy and her husband Scott Leverenz of Eden Prairie, MN, and Dawn and her husband James Kuchta of Friendship, WI; 16 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by hisparents; and two brothers, Leslie Bottin and Robert Bottin.
