William John Marxen

William John Marxen, 75, of Saint James, died on June 4, 2025, at Mayo Health System in Saint James

Visitation will be on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. A memorial service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Bill was born February 1, 1950, to John and Rona (Johnson) Marxen in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1969. On January 12, 1983, he married Nancy Whitmore. Together, they had three children. They later divorced.

Bill was an avid fisherman. He was a fan of a good competition, especially playing pool, darts, and any card game. He could be found often socializing at the Hometown Cafe where the staff knew his order by heart. Most of all, Bill was a family man who cherished his time with his children and grandchildren.

Bill is survived by his children, Ashly (Brian) Fast, Adam (Jeren) Marxen, Andy (Charlisa) Marxen, and Billy Marxen; grandchildren, Madison, Skyla (Dallas), Lexi (Josue), Zoe, McKinley, Addyson, Max, Xander, Anson, Axton, Landon, DeeAnna, Allan, and Andrew; great grandchildren, Liam and Autumn; siblings, Polly (Al) Landey, Dwayne Marxen, Helen Marxen, Patty (Jim) Miller, and David (Tina) Marxen; and former wife, Nancy Whitmore.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Linda (Jim) Wood and Cindy Marxen.
