William Hieronymus

William (Bill) E. Hieronymus, 65, of Sleepy Eye, passed away peacefully after losing his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at his home. His Memorial will be in July or Aug. 2015 in Montana at the 9 Mile placed by his brother Frank. He will then take his final ride on his Motorcycle. Bill was born on Jan. 28, 1949 in La Crosse, WI. to Frank and Mary (Brand) Hieronymus. He grew up in Sparta, WI. He traveled and lived in many states, some of which he stayed in longer, including Wisconsin, Montana, Texas and Minnesota. His favorite was Montana. He worked heavy equipment in the mines in Montana and building Highways in Minnesota. He worked on I 90 from WI to the Golden Spike in Blue Earth, MN. In 1988, He was diagnosis with Leukemia. He went through a bone marrow transplant in Seattle, WA his sister Mary was the donor. He fought long and hard and beat it. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, panning gold and riding his motorcycle. He put on a lot of miles and always felt so free on his motorcycle. He also loved spending time with family and friends. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He had such a great sense of humor that made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Even at the end, he still had comments and jokes that made people smile. Bill is survived by his sons: William (Jackie) ( TX), James ( WI), Timothy (MT), Daniel (WI). Daughter Tammy Hieronymus (WI) Grandsons: Will, Robin, Dylan, Blane, Jesse, Cody and Cash. Granddaughters: Devon and Justice. Step children: John Pierce (WI), Jody Pierce (MT) and their children. Sisters: Romona Colbert (OK), Darlene Hamilton (OK), Mary (Gardell) Marti (MN), Lorraine (Ron) McAuly (FL) and Irene (Billy) Kramer (WI) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Phillip Dahlstrand (1949), Daniel (1945) and Frank (Rooster) Hieronymus (Oct. 2012) Sister: Nancy Johnson (Apr. 2014) Daughter-in- law: Trina (Frydrych) Hieronymus (Dec. 2011) and Step son: Jason Pierce (Sept.2010) There will be no Memorial at this time, cards and memorials can be sent to Sturm Funeral Home 301 3rd Ave SW P.O Box 362 Sleepy Eye, MN. 56085 In care of William Hieronymus Family.
