Wilfred Anton Hansen was born September 27, 1918, in Morgan, MN, the son of John and Theresa (Janotti) Hansen. He grew up in the Morgan area and graduated from Morgan High School. Wilfred then joined the C.C.C. and entered the U.S. Army on April 18, 1942. He served as a Medical Technician in the South Pacific during World War II and was honorably discharged on December 3, 1945. Wilfred was united in marriage to Lucille Sorensen on June 17, 1946, in Comfrey where the couple made their home. They owned and operated the Comfrey Dry Cleaners before Wilfred went to work as a rural mail carrier with the Post Office. He was an active member of the Comfrey Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years, the Comfrey Legion Post, Lions Club, and St. Paul's Catholic Church. Wilfred enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and was an avid fisherman. Wilfred Anton Hansen died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center at the age of 87 years. Survivors include son- Charles and wife Laura Hansen of Waterville, MN; daughter- Theresa and husband Jim Schroeder of Nicollet, MN; grandchildren- Charles Holm, Levi Hansen, Melissa Holm, Maja (Rick) Kirby, and Bretta Hansen; great-grandson- Levi Hansen; sister- Genevieve Meyers of Springfield; and brothers- Roland Hansen of CA, and Gerald Hansen of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lucille; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
