Wilfred Burginger

Wilfred John Carl David Burginger was born October 8, 1908, in Sanborn, MN, the son of Ernest and Emma (Sauer) Burginger. Wilfred was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn in 1921. He was united in marriage to Valoris Moody on February 22, 1938, at Christ Lutheran Church in Stately Township. The couple started farming south of Sanborn in 1938 and then moved to Stately Township in 1939 where they farmed until retirement in 1970. After retirement, they moved to Sanborn where Wilfred worked for Gramstad's, Fox Hardware, and hauled gravel for Scheffler Construction. The couple moved to the Valley View Manor Apartments in March of 1994. Wilfred was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed farming, gardening, dancing, playing cards, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Wilfred Burginger died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 97 years and 1 month. Survivors include children- Bonnie Foudray and special friend Jerry Schuck of N. Mankato, Roger and wife Mary Jo Burginger of Sanborn, and Nancy and husband Leroy Harnack of Revere; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers- Ervin and wife Ora Burginger of Story City, IA, and Roman and wife Betty Burginger of Prescott Valley, AZ; and brother-in-law- Ralph Moody of Sanborn. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Valoris in 2000; brother- Norbert; and sisters-in-law- Dorothy Burginger and Gloria Moody.
