Wesley Mickelson

There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Wesley G. Bud Mickelson was born on June 26, 1919 in Leavenworth Township, Brown County, MN the son of George Gladys (Claussen) Mickelson. He lived his whole life on the family farm South of Leavenworth. Wesley married Beatta Tatty Berberich on April 17, 1944 in Comfrey, MN. Wesley enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play many sporting events. He also enjoyed playng cards, listening to old time music, going to tractor pulls, the Sleepy Eye Auction Market and visiting with family and friends. Wesley was an avid MN Twins Fan. He was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs and the Catholic Aid. Wesley Bud G. Mickelson, 88, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Survivors include his children, Jim (Elaine) Mickelson of Springfield, Robert (Joyce) Mickelson of Sleepy Eye, Donald (Bev) Mickelson of Sleepy Eye, Elaine Anderson of Ormsby, Margie Christiansen and special friend Lloyd Schwarz of Hackensack, Phyllis Mickelson of New Ulm, and Mary (John) Sandgren of St. Michael, 17 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, sisters, Betty Mickelson of Springfield and Della Scheiffert, Verna Suess and Lois Nelson, all of Sleepy Eye. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beatta in 1995, 3 son-in-laws, 1 grandson in infancy, 1 sister and 6 brother-in-laws.
