Wayne "Bink" Hanson passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society, The Village in Mountain Lake. Wayne Reuben Hanson was born on February 17, 1930, in Butterfield, Minnesota, to Christian and Jennie (Ravenburg) Hanson. He was baptized at Long Lake Lutheran Church. His dad had always called him Bink. After graduating from Butterfield High School in 1948, he worked as a hired man for George & Elsie Samuelson, the Hockel brothers, and Harold & Elsie Olson. It was during this time when he met the love of his life, Marjorie Ann Hunstad. He went into the service on his birthday in 1953 and served for two years. He and Marge married on July 28, 1956, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. They moved to Mountain Lake where Bink worked at Penner Implement, Regehr Chevrolet, the City of Mountain Lake and the funeral home. He built the family home after work with the help of friends and family. They had three children. In Mt. Lake he was a member of the Ambulance Crew, Fire Department, and Lions Club. He enjoyed working on machinery and in community which he found at the Butterfield Threshing Bee. Bink is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Marge; children Keith and Kris Hanson of Golden Valley, Minnesota; Brad and Deb Hanson of Fargo, North Dakota; Daughter-In-Law Ann Hanson-Hobot of Andover, Minnesota; Grandchildren: Thomas Arechigo of Fargo, North Dakota; Jessica and Kenny Berglund of Eden Prairie; Coral & Ethan Dirks of Minneapolis, Lydia & Jordan Lindberg of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Olaf Hanson of Aberdeen, South Dakota; Gunnar Hanson of Fargo, North Dakota; Isaiah Hanson of Andover, Minnesota; Tor, Stella and Haakon Hanson of Golden Valley, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Kevin Hanson of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; parents, six brothers; two sisters and three nephews.
