Wanda was born March 30th, 1952, to Russell and Adelyn (Ehrich) Pirsig in Blue Earth, Minnesota. After graduating from Blue Earth High School in 1970, she attended Votech in Mankato. She then moved to Fairmont, Minnesota.
Wanda was working at JCPenney when she was set up on a blind date with Elmer Knaack. They shared a bottle of Coke and the rest was history! They were married in 1972 and shortly after, settled in Saint James.
Wanda spent their first years happily raising their children. She would also babysit other children throughout the years. She loved to sew, craft, paint ceramics, and she also baked the best cookies and desserts.
Once the kids were older, Wanda started working at the A&W. She later worked at Jack and Jill, the Saint James Hospital, Pleasantview, and finally at Superfair Foods in the deli. She was involved in TOPS for many years, serving in many positions.
Her biggest joys in life were her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed every minute with them. She spoiled them all with her love and attention.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Elmer; daughter, Kathy (Todd) Wright; son, Russell; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Holly, Nathan, Nick, Ana, William, Jena, and Ehrich; and great grandchildren, Michael, Cayla, James, Adelyn, Greyson, Savannah, Harper, Riley, Haizlee, Ryker, and Ryder.
