Wanda Detoy

Rosary scheduled for 4:30pm. Wanda was born on November 11, 1933 in Pipestone, MN to Charles and Ruth Watts. After graduating from Pipestone High School, Wanda married Dick DeToy on August 11, 1952 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Pipestone. They were married for 49 years. In 1976, they moved to St. James where Wanda and Dick opened DeToy's Family Restaurant, which they ran together with their children until their retirement in 1992. Wanda was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, going for walks, participating in water aerobics and, most of all, being with her family. Wanda always had an open door and welcomed visits from her family and friends. She enjoyed her daily visits and special time with her dear friend and neighbor, Cleo Olson. Wanda is survived by her five children, 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Her family members are son Steve DeToy and his wife Darlene of North Kingstown, RI, and their children Marishka and Cydnee; daughter Pam and her husband Ken Ludvigson of Litchfield and their children Jill, Kelsie, Jenna and her husband Jacob Byrce, and Betsy; daughter Pat Kolstad of St. James and her children Camille, Neil, and Charles; daughter Becki and her husband Bob Reuter of St. James and their children Emily and her husband Dan Kern, Jacob, Marie, and Hannah; daughter Lori and her husband Terry Koch of St James and their children Adam and wife Beth, Katie and her husband Josh Swanson, Maegan and husband Brandon Romsdahl, Samuel, and Mariah. Her great grandchildren are Aaron Bakke, Azailya and Deegan Koch, Brennan and Nora Kern, and Jacey and Journey Swanson. Wanda is also survived by her sister Wilma Dean and her husband Vern Long of Pipestone. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Dick and son-in-law Kevin Kolstad.
