Wallace (Wally) Joseph Reiner, age 93 of Bashaw Township, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Sleepy Eye Medical Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael's Catholic Church on Thursday at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.
Wally was born on September 27, 1932 to Mary (Tauer) and Joseph Reiner. He was born in the same house where he lived his entire life. Wally married Myrtle Mae Schmidt on September 13, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm, MN. Wally's farming career began in the era of horses and plows watching it evolve to modern technology of tractors and combines. He also spent many years working part-time at Augustine's Butcher Shop.
Wally actively served his community as a Bashaw Town Board Supervisor, was on the Brown County Planning and Zoning Board, served on the St. Raphael school board and church council as a trustee, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Boniface Society, and the Elks Club of Port St. Lucie, Florida.
In retirement, Wally and Myrtle spent 35 years wintering in sunny Florida.They often visited the Elks Club for dining and dancing with friends.
Wally is survived by his wife of 71 years, Myrtle; children: Kathy Wall of Maricopa, Az; John (Lisa) Reiner of Springfield; Joan (Dean) Hohag of Waverly, MN; Thomas (Brenda) Reiner of Ham Lake, MN; and Robert (Jill) Reiner of Springfield; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dolores Haubrich; and many nieces and nephews.
Wally was preceded in death by his son, Joel; son-in-law, Vince Wall; parents, Joseph and Mary; in-laws, Roman and Elfrieda Schmidt; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and William Weber, Jr,; brother, Donald; brother-in-law, Russell Haubrich; and Nephew, Steve Haubrich.
