Virginia N. 'Jean' Mickelson

Virginia "Jean" (Pollom) Mickelson, the daughter of Anthony & Virginia (Crandal) Pollom was born on July 5th, 1931 in St. Paul, MN. Jean was united in marriage to Joe Mickelson on August 27, 1952 in Sleepy Eye, MN. The couple farmed North of town for 50 years. Jean worked over the years at Al's Bakery, Del Monte, Hardees and the Orchid Inn. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Jean enjoyed embroidery, baking, old time music and dancing and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Tim of New Ulm, Jill (Jon) Wellnitz of New Ulm, Scott of rural Sleepy Eye, Kathy (Scott) Ellanson of New Ulm and Dan (DeAnna) of Denver, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe in 2006, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and child in infancy in 1973.
