Violet Sorenson

Violet Sorenson was born December 5, 1908 in Gibson City, Ill to Henry and Ethel (Williams) Bishir. She moved with her family to Minnesota in 1914. Violet graduated from Lamberton High School in 1927. On June 14, 1928, Violet was united in marriage to Wayne Sorenson in Redwood Falls. They farmed together until their retirement in 1957 when they moved into their new home in Lamberton. Violet was a charter member of the Church of Christ where she held various offices, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Christian Worker's Ladies group. She had a great love for her flowers, especially her roses, and irises and was a member of the garden club for many years. Violet died on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 100 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband - Wayne, four sisters and two brothers. Surviving Violet are many nieces and nephews and their families.
