Violet L. Meinert was born on October 22, 1919 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of William Martha (Youngman) Trebesch. She grew up and attended country school and St. John's School in Sleepy Eye. She worked at Pietrus in Sleepy Eye. Violet married Delbert Meinert on April 4, 1948 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. They lived and farmed in Leavenworth Township. Violet and Delbert moved to Sleepy Eye in 1979. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, a member of the Ladies Aid and volunteered at the Treasure House, Meals on Wheels and played piano at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. Violet enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking (especially donuts), piano, flowers, traveling and spending time with family and grandchildren. Violet L. Meinert, age 85, formerly of Sleepy Eye, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield where she had lived since July of 2003. She is survived by her children their spouses; Judy Dean Isaksen of Springfield, Jim Becky Meinert of Sleepy Eye, Loren Meinert of Sleepy Eye, Jeanne Meinert Michael Fenster of Anchorage, AK, 5 grandchildren; Chad Meinert, Ryan Meinert, Darren Isaksen, Darci Isaksen, Elias Fenster, 2 great grandchildren, Hunter Meinert and Ethan Meinert and brother, Walter Trebesch of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Delbert in 1999, brothers, Wilbert and Alfred and sister, Mabel Trebesch.
