Viola Kintzi

June 9, 1915 — March 16, 2005

Viola J. Kintzi, the daughter of Theodore and Wilhelmina (Linscheid) Kintzi was born on June 9, 1915, in Westbrook, MN. She lived her first years with her family above the family's Mercantile Store in Westbrook, and they were members of the Rose Hill Mennonite Church in rural Westbrook. In 1919, they moved to Mountain Lake, MN, where Viola received her education at and graduated from the Mountain Lake High School. She worked in Minneapolis for a short time before attending Beauty School in Mankato, MN.She first worked in New Ulm, MN until her father's death in 1944. She then moved to Butterfield, MN and later to Windom, MN, where she worked as a Beautician. In 1949, her sister Erna and husband Harold helped her to settle in Austin, MN, where she worked as a beautician until her retirement. Viola was a long time member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. She enjoyed visits with her sisters and brother, being with her Austin friends and traveling. Viola entered the Good Samaritan Village in MountainLake on August 16, 2001, and this is where she died on Wednesday evening, March 16, 2005. Viola is survived by a sister, Erna and her husband Harold Olsen of Bedford, TX; a brother-in-law, Ray Brown of St. Louis, MO; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Emelia Regier, Louise Epp, Leona Kintzi, Martha Kintzi and Wanda Brown; and a brother, Ewald Kintzi.
