Viola was born on April 26, 1919 in Storden Township, west of Jeffers in Cottonwood Co, the daughter of George and Esther (Anderson) Roemer. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Jeffers. She attended country school in Dist. # 11 and helped her parents on the farm. At the age of 17 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Cazett on December 16, 1936 at the United Methodist Church in Lamberton. The couple worked for a variety of farmers in the Tracy and Walnut Grove area and in 1940 they moved to a farm Northeast of Lamberton where they resided for 35 years. The couple moved into Lamberton in 1975 and retired from farming in 1980. After LeRoy's death in 2000, Viola moved into the Valley View Manor in June of that year. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lamberton and enjoyed playing cards, fishing, playing bingo, fishing, her coffee group, fishing, watching the MN Twins, fishing, and volunteering at VVM. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and spending time at Grandma's Lake. Viola died on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the age of 86 at the Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton. She is survived by her daughters - Darla and husband Allan Stark of Sanborn and Vicky Moody of Lamberton; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters - Mavis Matson of Fairmont and Idell Biber of Tacoma, WA; and a brother - Durland of Puyallup, WA. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband - LeRoy in 2000; an infant son - Allan; a granddaughter - Tanya (Stark) Werner; sisters - Lillian, Elenore Babe, Eva, and Marvel; brothers - Alvin, Cliff, Donnie, Lester, and Everett.
