Vincent Eykyn

Vincent Everett Eykyn was born July 6, 1914, in Lamberton, MN, the son of Percy and Elizabeth (Johnson) Eykyn. A lifelong resident of Lamberton, Vincent graduated from Lamberton High School. He joined the CCC for a few years and was united in marriage to Mildred Schwanke on February 14, 1942, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Vincent drove bulk oil truck for Marben Oil for several years and became a resident of Valley View Manor in January of 2006. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Vincent enjoyed crossword puzzles. Vincent Everett Eykyn died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 93 years. Survivors include son- James and wife Jeanne Eykyn of Lamberton; daughter- Bette and husband Ernie Trapp, Jr. of Lamberton; grandchildren- Jay Eykyn of Redwood Falls, Jerry Wendt of Redwood Falls, Jennifer and husband Gene Hull of Boise, ID, Marnie Bastian of Wells, and Heath Wendt of Lamberton; and great-grandchildren- Adriane Hull, Nathan Hull, Camden Caffee, Dalton Wendt, Faith Wendt, and Lacy Wendt. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mildred in 2006; sister Gladys Bellig; brothers- Percy, Cecil, Art, George, and Gerard; and brothers and sisters in infancy- Alice, Beatrice, Charles, and Herbert.
