Villa Davey Lietz of Sleepy Eye, MN passed away peacefully at Divine Providence Community Home on her 105th birthday. Villa Davey was born in Sleepy Eye on October 28, 1906, the daughter of Glenn Alice (Moll) Davey. She was a 1925 graduate of Sleepy Eye High School. After graduating from Mankato Teacher's College, she taught school for several years before accepting a supervisory position with the local ASCS office. She was an avid golfer and in 1973 ran a vigorous but unsuccessful campaign for Mayor of Sleepy Eye. Villa was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harry Davey, sister, Doris Pearce and nephew, Jon Pearce. Villa is survived by her niece, Marcia (Kurt) Kroschel of Rio Verde, Arizona, and by her niece, Nancy (Tom) Haugland of International Falls, Minnesota.
