Vernon 'Bing' Edward Tordsen was born November 25, 1944 in Comfrey, MN to Arthur and Martha (Stern) Tordsen. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1962 and began working for Och's Brick and Tile. Bing served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967. He was an expert marksman and received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Following his honorable discharge, Bing returned to Springfield and continued to work for Och's Brick and Tile. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield and John Watson American Legion Post #257. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and loved growing roses. He is survived by son Michael Tordsen; brother Bob and wife Karen Tordsen of Brownton; sister Lynn and husband Jack Mueller of Mankato; sister-in-law Nancy Tordsen of Lamberton; 4 nieces; and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers- Glen and Eugene; and his companion of 39 years, Susan Larson.
