Vernon A. Kainz

Vernon Anthony Kainz was born on August 7, 1935 in Springfield, MN to Godfred and Margaret (Schroepfer) Kainz. He grew up in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. He attended two years of college in Brookings, SD. Vern served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1960-1962. He married Patricia Klein on March 3, 1962 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. He worked at Broich's Market and owned the Meat Locker in Sleepy Eye. Vern moved to Arlington and worked at the Super Market until he retired. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and cooking. He is survived by sisters, Kathleen Joyce of Burnsville, JoAnn Kainz of Burnsville, Carol (Richard) Hix of St. Louis Park and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia and brother-in-law, Tom Joyce.
