Vera Puchta

Vera Puchta, age 90, went home to be with Jesus her Lord and Savior on October 30, 2013. Vera was born to Harry and Esther (Graff) Karow on June 24, 1923. She was united in marriage to Melvin Puchta at Stately Lutheran Church in August of 1942 and they were later divorced. Vera started working for Dr. Tessien in 1951 and worked for him, and later Dr. Haugo, until her retirement in 2002. She was a Stanley home product dealer and received a 50-year diamond pin. Vera enjoyed collecting bells, served as a test grower for Jackson and Perkins roses, and loved working in her flower gardens.She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for Den 5 Pack 27 for many years, taught Sunday School at New Life Assembly of God, and wrote and published an organ and piano lesson teaching book along with Les Schroeder. Vera's biggest pride and joy was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children- Char and husband John Turek of Carver, MN, Rodney and wife Sheila Puchta of Manteca, CA, Chuck and wife Becky Puchta of Cleveland, MN, and Steve Puchta and special friend Carolyn of Mankato, MN; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Lois Mattison of Lamberton.
