Vera Nissel

Vera Elizabeth Nissel was born June 4, 1918, in Sheridan Township, Redwood County, the daughter of Harry and Hattie (Wilbur) Brandt. She was united in marriage to Harold R. Nissel on May 24, 1938, at the Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Johnsonville Township. The couple farmed in Johnsonville Township for several years. Vera was a member of the Lamberton United Methodist Church and enjoyed visiting, gardening, sewing, and listening to music. Vera Elizabeth Nissel died Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the Springfield Medical Center-Hospital at the age of 91 years. She is survived by sons- Marvin and wife Carol Nissel of New Ulm, and Darold and wife Karen Nissel of Lamberton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold in 1994; and son Dale in 1990.
