Valerie Jo Sargent was born on January 22, 1959 to Shirley (Sargent) Hagen in St. James, MN. Valerie attended St. James Public School and pursued a career in nursing. As a natural caregiver she loved working with the elderly. Whether it was working at the nursing home, Home Health or Learning Unlimited, she loved everyone she interacted with.
Valerie was phenomenal in the kitchen. Food was definitely a love language! She loved making food for those she loved and you never left her house hungry! She could cook & bake anything! Music was another love language for Valerie. She was always listening to music! She really enjoyed outdoor concerts and music festivals! Valerie loved taking pictures and capturing every moment! She always had her camera close by! Valerie loved gardening and took great pride in her flowers. She loved nature and being outside. She liked going to the lake, fishing, walking her dog, pow-wows, renaissance fairs, and antiquing. She loved spending time with her soul sisters, "her tribe". Valerie's favorite times were the ones spent with her daughter and grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending the weekends making memories. She really enjoyed going to their school and sports activities!
Valerie is preceded in death by her mother and step father, Shirley & Sanford Hagen; grandparents, Lenard & Wilma Redmond, and soul sister, Suezette Becker. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Sargent) Losinski; grandchildren, David, Ashanti & Sophia; brother, Lenny Sargent & family; soul sisters, Kim Petterson, Jeanna Chute, Donna Rankin and many friends.
Valerie passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 2, 2025. She was 66 years old.
