Valentine Fischer

Valentine A. Tiny Fischer was born April 8, 1933 to Joseph and Theresa (Schumacher) Fischer in rural Comfrey, MN. He was the youngest of nine children. He attended Brown County Country School Dist. # 42, St. Paul's Catholic School in Comfrey and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Sleepy Eye in 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1959 on the USS Shangri. Tiny worked in Sioux Falls, SD at Coleman from 1960 - 1963. Tiny moved to Minneapolis and worked at FMC until his retirement in 1987. Tiny died on Saturday, March 26, 2004 at his home in Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by her four sisters - Elizabeth Fisher of Springfield, Josephine Lang of Springfield, Teresa Huiras of Apple Valley, and Dorothy Fischer of Mankato; a sister-in-law - Jean Fischer of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters - Sister Myrna Fischer OSB and Gertrude Hillesheim and two brothers - Alfred Fischer and John Fischer.
