Twyla Grefe

Twyla Marie Grefe was born January 17, 1954 in Fairmont, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Norma (Becker) Grefe. She grew up in the Truman area where she graduated from Truman High School. She then attended Beauty School in Mankato. In 1975, she moved to St. James and went to work for the Fashion Flair in St. James. In 1977, she went to work for Mavis and Harley Waltjer at Lords and Ladys, she took over ownership in 2003. Twyla was a very generous giving person and active in the community. She established the TMG Scholarship in 2012 and it was awarded to a very deserving young man. She started the luncheons to promote the hanging baskets in the downtown area, and was active with Habitat for Humanity in St. James, and was a supporter of the swimming pool and pool slide project. She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, hosting parties on her screened in porch, traveling, shopping, vacationing with Shyanna and spending time with family and friends. Twyla was part of the Christmas Home Tour and also the Spring Garden Tour. Twyla is survived by her mother; Norma Grefe of Truman, 2 brothers; Bryce Grefe and his wife Karen Griffin of Weymouth, MA, Mark Grefe and his wife Sandy of Truman, and her daughter by love; Shyanna Mosser of St. James. She is preceded in death by her father in 2005. Memorials may be directed to the TMG Scholarship Fund at Pioneer Bank in St. James.
