Todd Salonek

Todd 'Chief' Salonek was born March 23, 1958, in Waconia, MN to Urban and Rose (Peter) Salonek. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1976 and then attended Alexandria Technical School where he studied for Parts Management. Chief worked for Englin Construction during and after high school which later became Salonek Construction. He was united in marriage to Debra Jenzen on October 19, 1985, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield and the Sons of the American Legion. Chief enjoyed Arctic Cat snowmobiles, golfing, watching the Vikings, chopping wood, watching the fireplace in the winter, and westerns, especially The Lone Ranger. He especially enjoyed his trips to Mexico, driving around, and socializing with friends. He is survived by wife Deb of Springfield; children- Kelly and husband John Meyer of Belle Plaine, Tianna Salonek of Sauk Rapids, and Zach Salonek of Springfield; grandchildren- Brynne, Braxtyn, and Jameson Meyer; parents- Urb and Rose Salonek of Springfield; siblings- Judy (Dave) Rubey of Sleepy Eye, Jack Salonek of Worthington, Kent (Mary) Salonek of Springfield, Rod (Wendy) Salonek of Springfield, Craig (Darcy) Salonek of New Ulm, and Chad (Annette) Salonek of Springfield; mother-in-law- Adeline (Al) Schubbe of Springfield; sister-in-law Jane (John) Altenhofen of Springfield; brothers-in-law- Kerry (Barb) Jenzen of Springfield, and Hunter (Kristi) Jenzen of Waseca; and many nieces, nephews and cousins He was preceded in death by his father-in-law James Jenzen.
