Todd '"Animal"' Cowell

Todd "Animal" Cowell age 58, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 14, 2022, at his residence. Visitation will be on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. Service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 1:00 PM with a time of fellowship and lunch to follow in the fellowship hall of the church. The clergy will be Pastor Rick Bremseth . Interment will be at the Mountain Lake Cemetery in Mountain Lake, MN. . Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mtn. Lake, Minnesota. Todd Alan Cowell, who many know as "Animal", was born on March 23, 1964 in Tracy, MN to his parents Leo and Alice Cowell. Todd was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Todd spent most of his childhood in Butterfield, MN with his 7 brothers and sister. Todd started working at Butterfield Foods in Butterfield, MN at a young age and continued to work there until his passing (approximately 43 years). Then, while in high school he met the love of his life, Connie whom he married on June 13th, 1987. A year later Todd and Connie bought their farm south of Mountain Lake. When January 3rd, 1990 rolled around Todd and Connie welcomed their son Anthony. Not long after that on June 4th, 1992 Ashley joined the family! Last but not least, on October 16th, 1994 they welcomed Alyssa to the family! Todd loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and taking trips to Duluth with his family! But once he got the title "Papa" when his grandson Coltan was born in October 2011, he loved spending time with his grandkids! He took his role as grandpa very seriously! Todd was known by friends and family to have a heart of gold. He was always willing to lend a helping hand! He was also known for being Mr. Fixit, Todd could literally fix anything! Making friends also came very easily for Todd, many of his friends knew him as "Animal". Todd is survived by his wife, Connie Cowell of Mountain Lake; son, Anthony Cowell of Mountain Lake; daughter, Ashley (Jonathan) Mullen of Mountain Lake; daughter, Alyssa Cowell (Austin Broberg) of Ormsby; his grandchildren, Coltan Braun, Aliyah Mullen, Aubrey Broberg, Kamden Mullen, Layken Broberg, and Hudsyn Broberg. Also siblings, Bruce (Lynda) Cowell of Mountain Lake, Bradley (Mary Jo)Cowell of St. James, Kevin (Sue) Cowell of St. James, Gary Cowell (Diane) of Butterfield, Judy Wagner (Arthur Buck) of Butterfield, Kent Cowell (Roxanne Mau) of Butterfield, Corey (Bev) Cowell of Butterfield; and many nieces and nephews. Todd is proceeded in death by his father, Leo Cowel;, mother, Alice Cowell; brother, Bryon Cowell; and family friend, John Klause.
