Tom Veerkamp

Thomas Veerkamp was born on June 22, 1937, in Mountain Lake, MN the son of Francis and Dorothy (McShea) Veerkamp. Tom attended St. Paul Catholic School in Comfrey. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. Tom was united in marriage to Pauline Eckstein on July 22, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Comfrey, MN. The couple farmed and raised their 5 children. Tom raised horses and was a member of the MN Draft Horse Association enjoyed farm auctions, hosting the Annual Consignment Auction, visiting and social time while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Tom died on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 87.

He is survived by his children - Michael (Chris) Veerkamp of Milaca, MN, Robert Veerkamp of Comfrey, MN, Jeff (Jill) Veerkamp of Comfrey, MN, Mary Kay (Adam) Reichow of Princeton, MN, and Kathleen (Mark) Riebl of Milaca, MN; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Pauline in 2007, a sister, and a daughter in infancy.
