Thomas Earl "Tom" Tiedeken age 86, of Richmond, MN, formerly of Madelia, died on March 26, 2024, at The Gardens at Winsted, MN.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:00am Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James, MN.

The clergy will be Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen.  Military Rites will be provided by the Madelia Area Veterans Honor Guard.

Tom Tiedeken was born to Anton and Enid (Jones) Tiedeken in rural Madelia on May 15, 1937.  Tom graduated from Madelia High School in 1955 and went on to serve in the Army from 1955 - 1958.  He married Phyllis Hovden in July of 1956 and they resided in Staten Isalnd, NY while Tom completed his military service.  After moving back to Madelia where they farmed for 8 years, they then purchased Phyllis’ family’s farm and settled down in rural St. James where they raised their three children and lived until 2017.  Tom enjoyed golfing, camping, playing cards and pool, traveling, trips to the casino, and winters in Arizona.

Tom is survived by his 3 children, son, Brad (Clover) of Rochester; daughters, Jayne(Steve) Walter of Waconia and Beth (Bob) Wright of St. Paul; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Dessa (Glen) Preuhs;  brother, Lee (Elaine) Tiedeken; sister-in-law, Darlene Tiedeken;  2 nieces and 5 nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents, Anton and Enid; brothers, Leon and Richard; and granddaughter, Whitney.
