The family would prefer memorials in lieu of flowers. Thomas Warren Stauffer was born on August 20, 1946 in Mankato, MN to Jesse Bernice (Syverson) Stauffer. He lived in St. James and attended St. James School K-12. He was drafted into the Army for two years from 1966-1968, serving one year in Vietnam. Tom married Virgene Peterson on June 29, 1968 at West Sveadahl Lutheran Church. They moved to Sleepy Eye where Tom worked for Sleepy Eye Power Plant, Sleepy Eye Public School as Maintenance Supervisor and then as a Car Detailer for Jensen Motors in New Ulm. Tom was a member of the VFW and Sportsmen's Club. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Virgene of Sleepy Eye, son, Brent wife, Nancy Stauffer of Buffalo, MN, sister, Betty Ehert of New Ulm, brothers, Lyle Stauffer of Luverne, Brad wife, Becky Stauffer of St. James, brother-in-law, Mark wife, Renelle Biggar of Delano, mother-in-law, Mildred Peterson of Delano and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Harold Peterson.
