Thomas Prokosch

There will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Thomas Joseph Prokosch was born December 26, 1934, to John and Rose (Hillesheim) Prokosch in Sleepy Eye, MN. He was raised in rural Sleepy Eye and attended Iberia Country School and St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. On January 7, 1958, Tom was married to Marjorie Suess at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey, MN. He farmed in Stark Township in rural Sleepy Eye and also worked for Tri-County Co-op in Darfur, MN for 33 years until retirement. Tom resided in Comfrey for the past 40 years and was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Darfur Sportsman's Club. Tom became a resident of St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield in December of 2007. He enjoyed coaching girls fast-pitch softball, playing softball on the church league, hunting, fishing and spending time with his many grandchildren. Thomas J. Prokosch died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 73. He is survived by wife Marjorie of Comfrey, children - Beth (Pat) Sturm of Springfield, Sandy (Kevin) Leffel of Mankato, Barb (Jim) Forbrook of Chaska, Nancy (Jack) Grausam of New Ulm, Joan (Robert) Hoerauf of Minnetonka, David (Melissa) Prokosch of Springfield, Rhonda (Roy) Nies of Sartell, Thomas (Emily) Prokosch, Jr. of Windom, Gail (David) Drew of Alexandria, Dale (Rebecca) Prokosch of Hutchinson, 25 grandchildren, brother-in-law - Albert Reiner of Sanborn. He is preceded in death by his parents - John and Rose Prokosch, sister - Elaine Reiner, brother and sister-in-law- John and Trudy Prokosch, niece - Connie Prokosch and nephew - Todd Prokosch.
