Thomas Harold Maloney

Thomas Harold Maloney passed on Friday, April 10, 2026, at St. Gertrude's Long-Term Care in Shakopee, at the age of 90. He was born to Grace and Harold Maloney on June 29, 1935, in Fairmont, Minnesota and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1953.

Following four years in the Navy, he attended and graduated from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, as an Electrical Engineer. He was hired in Chicago by IBM as a Customer Engineer, installing and maintaining some of the first large computers.

He married Dorothy Schmid from Comfrey, Minnesota on January 20, 1962. After nine years in Chicago, a move was made to Minneapolis where he was employed by Memorex Telex Corporation. Following his retirement, he enjoyed twenty-five winters in Mesa, Arizona, tending his many citrus trees. He also enjoyed reading, sailing and especially traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons - Chuck (Cathy) and their children Matthew, Grace and Olivia of Lakeville, MN; John (Anne) and their children Greogory, Rita, Richard and Margaret of St. Anthony, MN, Father Michael of Deephaven, Catherine (Alex) Weatherly and their son Daniel of Ogden, UT and Lucy of Loretto, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Gertrude's Long-Term Care, Shakopee, MN.
