Thomas Fischer

Thomas W. Fischer was born on August 19, 1952 in Sleepy Eye, MN the son of Elmer Viola (Fischer) Fischer. He grew up and attended country school and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Sleepy Eye. He farmed with his family near Sleepy Eye. Tom moved to the metro area for awhile then returned to Sleepy Eye where he met Marilyn Dallman from Redwood Falls in 1987. They were married in Redwood Falls on October 21, 1989. They made their home in New Ulm. Tom worked at a couple of different jobs before working as a welder at Hewitt Manufacturing in Nicollet until he was disabled due to health problems. Tom enjoyed animals, especially squirrels, gardening watching birds. He was a very generous person who would help anyone as he was able. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of New Ulm, children, Angela (Dan) Flock of Springfield, Rick (Kristi) Fischer of Farmington, Gary Dey of New Ulm, step-children, Bonnie Lowinske of New Ulm, Duane (Amanda) Wiederich of New Ulm, 7 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, siblings, Sharlene Fischer of Sleepy Eye, Elmer Fischer, Jr. of New Ulm, Carol (Gordon) Fromm of Springfield and Junelle Hauth of New Ulm. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer, sister, Gloria, brother-in-law, Marvin Hauth, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
