Theoris Kathleen Christenson

Theoris Kathleen Christenson, daughter of Orlando and Adeline (Hansen) Thormodson was born on June 18, 1927 in Brown County, Minnesota. Theoris attended rural school and was a 1945 graduate of Madelia High School. She attended Mankato Teacher College and taught in rural Sleepy Eye. She married C. John "Johnny" Christenson on August 20, 1949 at the Linden Lutheran Church, Hanska, Minnesota. They lived and farmed in rural Madelia until Johnny passed away on February 24, 1986. Theoris married Loren Johnson on October 10, 1997. They enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona. Theoris was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia. She was known for her hardanger needlework and beautiful flowers. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Theoris K. Christenson age 89, of Madelia, MN died on September 22, 2016, at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. Survivors include her husband, Loren Johnson; 4 children, Mark (Jan) Christenson of Madelia, Paul (Debra) Christenson of Omaha, Kathryn Guyer of Madelia and Karen (Tom) McMonagle of Lake Crystal; brother, Olav Thormodson of Madelia; 11 grandchildren, Gregory (Renee) Guyer, Matthew (Beth) Guyer, Samuel (Melanie) Guyer, Kim (Owen Swerkstrom) Guyer, Julie (David) Oachs, Jay (Julie Kelley) Christenson, Sean (Sara) McMonagle, Daniel (Megan) McMonagle, Tyler (fianc-Kaylie McGuire) McMonagle, Carissa (Joshua) Combes, Brandon Christenson; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 step-children, and many nieces and nephews.
