Theodore Frederick Kissner was born on November 30, 1910 on the family farm in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, MN. He was the son of Louis and Anna (Marti) Kissner. He attended country school District #29 in Germantown Township. He then worked on the family farm, which had been homesteaded by his father in 1895, having purchased it from the Railroad. This farm is now a Century Farm, Ted being the second generation to own it, and his son Kenneth the present owner. He was baptized and confirmed in the Germantown Evangelical United Brethren Church. On June 29, 1941 he married Ura Simondet at the North Redwood E.U.B. Church. They resided on the farm until 1994 when they moved to Lamberton. Ted enjoyed raising cattle and was a member of the American Black Angus Association, and sold purebred Angus Cattle for many years. Ted enjoyed working on the farm with his John Deere machinery and playing Horseshoe. Ted died on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Valley View Manor at the age of 94 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years - Ura Kissner of Lamberton; son - Kenneth and wife Diane Kissner of Sherburn, MN; grandchildren - Dr. Matthew and wife Neena Kissner of Sterling Heights, MI, and Sarah Kissner of Anoka, MN. He is also survived by a sister - Viola Reif of Bismark, ND; a brother - Robert Kissner of Jeffers, MN and a sister-in-law - Pauline Henke of Hutchinson, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters - Agonia Borchert, Luella Matzke, and Melba Tlam; and sister-in-law -Iona Zihlke.
