Thelma Goerish

Thelma Opal Goerish was born October 2, 1917, in Cottonwood County to Clyde and Louise (Jenzen) Fults. She was united in marriage to Albert Goerish on November 6, 1933, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton. Following marriage the couple farmed south of Sanborn for 75 years. Thelma was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. Thelma Goerish died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at her home in rural Sanborn at the age of 93 years. She is survived by sons- Lewis Goerish of Sanborn, Gerald (Gloria) Goerish of Clear Lake, IA, Edward (Leilani) Goerish of Ashby, Charles (Sandra) Goerish of Tracy, and Thomas Goerish of Clara City; daughters- Elly (Frank) Trebesch of Sanborn, and Bev (Sal) Windschitl of New Ulm; daughter-in-law Bev Goerish of Kiester; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Albert in 1999; sons- Roger and Robert T.; daughter Theresa; and brothers- Lewis, Clarence, and Lendale Fults.
