Sylvia Ring

Sylvia Marlyn Ring was born on June 15, 1941 in Prairieville Township, MN, the daughter of Halvor C. Verna Sarah (Johnson) Groff. She grew up and attended Sleepy Eye Public Schools. Sylvia married Herbert Clemon Ring on June 17, 1959 in Brookings, SD. Sylvia worked at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye and Tony Downs in Madelia and St. James. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and was a member of the Ladies Aid and Bible Study Group. She enjoyed quilting, volleyball, watching t.v. and spending time with family and friends. Sylvia Marlyn (Groff) Ring, 66, of Sleepy Eye died on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Gil-Mor Manor Nursing Home in Morgan, MN. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Kathleen) Ring of Bandera, TX, Paul (Janette) Ring of Fargo, ND, Jerry (Laurie) Ring of Sleepy Eye, daughters, Barbara (John) Ladd of Sleepy Eye, Nancy Wright of Sleepy Eye, Dorothy (Melvin) Hoffman of Sleepy Eye, 10 grandchildren and special friend, Larry Grundemann, brothers sisters, Irene Dahl, Melvin Groff, Alice Mae (Leroy) Hinderman, Raymond (Nancy) Groff, Marian (Ben) Tragner, Ivan (Connie) Groff, and Leonard (Janet) Groff. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Herbert in 1990 and a son Carl in 2005.
