Sylvia Denn

Sylvia (Lantz) Denn age 93,of Lewisville, MN died, Wednesday December 11,2013 at her home in Lewisville. Sylvia was born on November 20th, 1920 in Ceresco Township to Ward Joyce (Miexell) Lantz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. She was a lifelong active member at St Peters Lutheran Church. Sylvia graduated in 1938 from the Lake Crystal High School, Lake Crystal, MN. Sylvia was united in marriage to Warren Denn on July 18th, 1939 and the cuple enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Sylvia and Warren farmed in Ceresco Township for twenty years. In 1959 they purchased the Lewisville Motors Chevrolet Allis Chalmers garage which they operated for the next 34 years. Sylvia was the bookkeeper for the business and enjoyed meeting all the people. Prior to that she worked for 7 years in the Lake Crystal nursing home as a dining room hostess. In 1962 Warren Sylvia moved to Lewisville where they continued to operate their business. Sylvia was a member of the Lewisville American Legion Auxiliary and a member of a sewing club. Sylvia was also a homemaker; she loved flowers, gardening, watching the birds, fishing, dancing to old thyme music, playing cards especially at the Johnson farm on Sunday afternoons and spending time with her family. Sylvia also enjoyed attending weekly Bible Study at Zion Lutheran church in Lewisville. She loved to watch the Vikings and especially the Twins on TV. She was a loving caring mother to her children, grandchildren and all who knew her. Sylvia is survived by, daughters Phyllis Johnson, Garden City, Sandra (Verne) Radloff, New Ulm. Daughter in-law Alice Denn, New Ulm, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brothers Roy (Marie) Lantz, Oregon Fred ( Diana) Lantz, Lake Crystal, Willard (Pearl) Lantz , Mapleton, sister in-law Audrey Lantz, California, brother in-law Richard (Barb) Denn, Madelia, sisters in-laws Bernice (Richard)Bailey, Madelia, Doris (Delphin) Kietzer, Vernon Center, and Judy Denn, Madelia. She was preceded in death by her parents Ward Joyce Lantz, husband Warren, son Jerry, son in-law Robert Johnson, granddaughters Sylvia Johnson, and Rebecca Radloff, brothers and sister-in-laws Howard Francis Lantz, Everette Mae Lantz, Edward Lantz, Neva Lantz, Robert Esther Denn, and Darrel Marion Van Sickle.
