Sylvester Frank Vogel was born on February 21, 1931 to William and Philomena (Matzke) Vogel in Stately Township, Brown County, MN. After his schooling, Sonny started working at Vigorena Feeds. He was united in marriage to Arlene Rosenau on September 30, 1961 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. After marriage, the couple moved to the farm and farmed for 12 years and he also managed the Eastside Bar for 23 years. After retirement, he worked at the airport. Sonny enjoyed playing cards at the airport and at the kitchen table, his hobby farm, loved his cattle, peacocks, deer, chickens, and pigeons, country driving and sightseeing. He especially loved his time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the St. Raphael Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Arlene; daughter Bonnie and children Nita and Hana, daughter Doreen (Jeff) Christensen and children Dan, Emily, and Cole, daughter Julie (Tim) Gramentz and children Josh and Allissa (Billy Cook), son Jon (Elaine) and children Lindsay (fiance Cyle Braulick), Jordan (special friend Katlyn), and Lexie, daughter Mary (Jim) Simonson and children Chase and Haley; siblings - Eleanor Teicher, Wenzel Vogel, Ernest (Nancy) Vogel; in-laws - Eileen Vogel, Elmer Meine, Alvin Wille; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings - Christine Wille, Rose Meine, William Vogel, Jr., Swede and Lowell Halvorson; and nieces and nephews.
