Sylvester Hauser

There will be a parish prayer service Friday at 7pm at the funeral home. Sylvester Arnold Hauser was born on August 23, 1920 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the son of Frank Angela (Breigenzer) Hauser. He grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. Sylvester married Irene Langenhorst on January 29, 1952 at St. Joseph's Church in Granville, IA. He started farming in 1950. Sylvester was a member of St. Mary's Church in Sleepy Eye his entire life and was an usher there. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid, Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Farm Bureau and Sleepy Eye Lions Club. He enjoyed farming, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Sylvester A. Hauser, 87, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Irene Hauser of Sleepy Eye, children; Laurie (Gary) Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Alan (Anne) Hauser of Chicago, Marlys (Dave) Schmitt of Hastings and Gary (Danelle) Hauser of New Ulm, grandchildren; Ryan and Melissa Tauer, Grace and John Hauser, Kyle and Kristi Gangelhoff and Eric, Abby, Nathan and Jake Hauser, brothers and sisters; Veronica Hoffman of Dodge Center, MN, Nicholas Hauser of Sleepy Eye, Gertrude Marti of Sleepy Eye, Rita Augustin of St. James and Cornelius (Kathy) Hauser of Kasota. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Leonard, sister, Mary Catherine Hauser, sisters-in-law, Rosile Hauser and Adelia Hauser and brothers-in-law, Victor Marti and Urban Augustin.
