Susan Windschitl

December 6, 1957 — April 28, 2010

Susan M. Windschitl was born on December 6, 1957 in Redwood Falls, MN to John Ann (Petersen) Salewske. She grew up in Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood High School. Sue graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in Special Education and also received her Master's Degree. She taught for 7 years at Lester Prairie in LD/Special Education and worked 1/2 year at Educational Coop in Fennimore, WI. Sue taught at Sleepy Eye Public from 1989-2001 and then took a 3 year leave to work for Thrivent Financial. Sue married Kevin Windschitl on February 14, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. She took a position as long term substitute in St. James for a year before returning to Sleepy Eye Public where she taught from 2003 until the present. Sue did books for basketball, volleyball, track, coached tennis and refereed for volleyball. Sue was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the altar guild. She loved baking, reading and attending family events. She was extremely compassionate and was always there to help a friend in need. She is survived by husband, Kevin of Sleepy Eye, mother, Ann Salewske of Redwood Falls, brother, John (Char) Salewske of Spirit Lake, IA, sisters, Jan (Bob) Swoboda, Deb (Steve) Schramm, all of Redwood Falls, father mother-in-law, Chuck Dolores Windschitl of Sleepy Eye, sister-in-law, Debi (Gordy) Pehrson of Shakopee, nieces nephews, Dawnelle Muff, Lori Perdue, Tyson Salewske, Jamin Ose, Jessica Ness, Gabriele Swoboda, Amy Schramm, Bill Schramm, Ben Schramm, Rebecca Schramm, Charlie Pehrson and Emily Pehrson. She was preceded in death by her father, John and brother, Jim.
