Steven Anthony Roiger

Steven Anthony Roiger was born October 14, 1949, in New Ulm, MN to Roman and Marjorie (Fiedler) Roiger. Steve graduated from Springfield High School then enlisted with the U.S. Army on August 21, 1969. His basic training was in South Carolina and Alabama before serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on March 27, 1972. Steve worked at Coleman Powermate and Hilltop Recycling before retiring in 2014. He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, John Watson American Legion Post #257, and enjoyed taking his beloved dog Joe for Ranger rides, camping, trail riding and motorcycling. Steve Roiger died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Sunwood Good Samaritan Home in Redwood Falls, MN at the age of 68. He is survived by his father Roman of Springfield; sons- Jacob and wife Tara Roiger of Sanborn, John and special friend Kim Roiger of Clements, and Jeremiah Roiger of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren- Victoria and Allison Roiger, Carissa and Chelsey Havemeier; sisters- Ramona Reinhart and Carol Roiger of Redwood Falls; and sister-in-law Norma Roiger of Sanborn.
