Stan Dale Sowers

February 20, 1945 — June 24, 2018

Stan Dale Sowers was born on February 20, 1945 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Michael and Rosalie (Thurston) Sowers. On May 26, 1967 he married Lauraine Wegner in Mankato, MN. Together they had one son, Chad. Stan learned the masonry trade from his Dad. Later on he worked for Isader Faerber of New Ulm doing cement work and laying up basements. He also did cement work for Pat Davis of Sleepy Eye and had his own masonry business. Most recently Stan did vintage restoration of Cushman Motor scooters. He attended many National Cushman meets and truly enjoyed working on the Cushman's. He also restored gas pumps, pedal cars, pop machines, jukeboxes and vintage toys. Stan enjoyed his Harley motorcycles and his many bike trips with his wife and son. Going to Sturgis, SD was a big part of Stan's life and he spent a lot of time just enjoying the freedom of the ride. Stan loved the outdoors and visiting with his many friends and family. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lauraine of Sleepy Eye, son, Chad of Duluth, grandchildren, Heather and Harley, brothers, Carl (Carrie) of New Ulm, Richard of Lucan, Tom Kissner of Sleepy Eye, sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Michael) Crouch and June Streich of Sleepy Eye, brother-in-law, James Wegner of Evan and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Rosalie Sowers/Kissner, grandparents, Hiram and Lydia Sowers, brother-in-law, Kenny Streich and mother-in-law, Alice Wegner.
