Soubanh Sivixay

Soubanh Sivixay, age 77, died unexpectedly of COVID-19 complications on October 12 th , 2021, in Sioux Falls, SD. Soubanh is survived by her daughter, Noi Sysim (Bounlay), of Butterfield, MN; her son, Seuth Sivixay of Savanh, Laos; her daughter, Phayboun Baccam of San Diego, CA; her daughter, Mimi Sivixay of San Diego, CA; her son, Saeb Sivixay of Mt. Lake, MN; her daughter Vivone Sivixay (Andy Sithamat) of St. Cloud, MN, and her son, Thivy Sivixay of San Diego, CA; her sister, La Sivixay of Banh Noua Dang, Laos; her grandchildren: Nutcharee (Mick), Lanna, Samantha (Saksakool), Peter, Anita, Pandora, LaMar, Kobe, Chanav, Tiana, Howie, Tevin, Thaila, Faa, Kenix, Sunny, Nohm, Bounthoo; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Seelung Sivixay, her father, Haut Sivixay, and her four children of Pakse, Laos. Soubanh was born on March 1 st in 1944, to parents Haut and Seelung Sivixay. She moved and accepted a position as a nurse in the army. In 1990, Soubanh and her family immigrated to the United States as refugees and resided in Dallas, Texas. Three years later, she relocated to Butterfield, MN where she found her forever home with her family. Soubanh was a great family woman and a loving mother. She had her daughter, Noi, then later married Soun in Laos and the couple had 12 children together, including 4 who died in infancy. Soubanh was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in the Laotian Community for the majority of her life. She enjoyed fishing, scavenging for mushrooms, playing cards, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her as a spirited, comical, and adventurous person. Visitation will be at the Sturm Funeral Home in Mt. Lake on Monday, October 18th, 2021 beginning at 12:00 pm followed by a funeral service. Thak baht will be held on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 at 10:00 am.
