Sofianne "Sofie" Evers

Sofianne Evers was born on July 6, 1938 to Harold and Viola (Syverson) Dingfelder in Sleepy Eye, MN. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public Schools and then attended Mankato Community College. She then worked for Green Giant in Le Sueur, MN. On October 26, 1958, Sofie was united in marriage to James Evers at the United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. Sofie worked at the Watonwan County Library in Darfur for 30 years, the Springfield Public Library, and the Comfrey Public School. The couple lived on a farm near Comfrey and moved to Springfield in 2011. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Sofie died on Thurdsday, May 20, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband Jim Evers of Springfield; children - Cindy (Loren) Hansen of Omaha, NE, Steven (Kris) Evers of Comfrey, and Dean (Rhonda) Evers of Comfrey; 6 granddaughters - Heidi Berry, Morgan Yoshimura, Miranda McMullen, Katelyn Evers, Marlayna Gatzlaff, and Carissa Evers; 6 great grandchildren; and siblings - Julie Ann Dingfelder of New Ulm, Ronald (Gloria) Dingfelder of Montevideo, and Linda (Greg) van der Hagen of Hutchinson. _ Visitation 1 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday, May 24, 2021 Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel 407 N.
