Simone Hengel

Simone Marie was born in Sleepy Eye, MN on December 24, 1940, the daughter of Pete and Frances (Steffl) Weicherding. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Sleepy Eye, MN and graduated in 1958. Simone was united in marriage to Raymond Hengel on January 28, 1961 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time gardening and attending to flowers, her volunteer work especially at the Next 2 New store, bird watching and knitting. Simone also cherished her time with her grandchildren. Simone Marie Hengel, age 65, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Friday, September 22, 2006 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN Surviving Simone is her husband, Raymond of Sleepy Eye; children - Debbie Hengel and special friend Toby Neid of Sleepy Eye, Brenda and husband Guy Plotz of Bennlevel, NC and David and Amy Hengel of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren - Rachel and Jacob Plotz and Sarah and Alyssa Hengel; sisters - Yvone Strommen of Tucson, AZ and Colleen and husband Gerald Johnson of Bloomington, MN; brother - Gary Weicherding of Las Vegas, NV; brother-in-law - Christy Hengel of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-laws - Agnes Grausam of Sleepy Eye, Isabelle Hoffman of CA and Mary Ann and husband Sylvester Kotten of Sleepy Eye. Simone is preceded in death by her parents - Pete and Frances Weicherding, father and mother-in-law - George and Anna Hengel, and brother-in-law Jerome Hengel.
