Simona Chavez passed away peacefully on the morning of December 29, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving behind a lifetime of love and cherished memories.
Funeral Service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James on Friday, January 02, 2026, at 12:00pm. The clergy will be Father Timothy Hall.
Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am-12:00pm on Friday before the service.Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Saint James.

Simona was born on July 7, 1947, in Moyahua de Estrada, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Romana Mejia and Jose Chavez. She was one of seven children and was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings, who helped shape the strong family values she carried throughout her life. Simona later married Ciro and built a life centered around family, which remained her greatest joy and purpose.
Simona is survived by her husband, Ciro Padron; her children, Jose Padron and Roberta (Luis) Sanchez; her grandchildren, Nancy Sanchez and Jazmine (James) Flores; and her great-grandson, Jasper Flores, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
In 2010, Simona made her home in St. James, Minnesota, where she continued to create a welcoming and loving environment for those around her. She is remembered for her humor, kindness, and chipper spirit. Her easy laughter and warm presence brought comfort and lightness to everyone she encountered. Simona’s life will be remembered through the relationships she nurtured, the care she gave so freely, and the memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
