Signe E. Quarnstrom, the daughter of Frank and Hilda (Paulson) Nelson, was born October 7, 1922 in rural Annandale, MN. She attended country school 5 miles east of her family farm. Signe was baptized, confirmed and married at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church in rural Annandale. She was united in marriage to David Quarnstrom on May 28, 1949. David and Signe lived in the Comfrey area for many years. She was the janitor at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey for 14 years and also babysat for many neighborhood children. Signe was a former member of the Faith Lutheran Church and a current member of New Hope Lutheran where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Comfrey American Legion Auxiliary. Signe enjoyed quilting and sewing especially quilting for missions, gardening - flowers and vegetables and bird watching. Signe died on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake, MN at the age of 84. Signe is survived by daughter - Beverly and husband Jeff Bottin of Odin and son - Frank Quarnstrom of Comfrey, MN; grandchildren - Heather Bottin, Jordan Quarnstrom and Alicia Quarnstrom; step-granddaughters - Angela and husband Clint Serl and Casandra and husband Michael Newth; step-great grandchildren - Nathan Serl and Kaitlyn Newth. Signe was preceded in death by her parents and husband, David, in 1989, brothers - Edwin and Iver, sister - Ellen Nelson, sister-in-law Eileen Stine.
