Shirley was born on the family farm in Sundown Township on September 28, 1931. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, MN. She was a member of Mary Magdalene Circle and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, playing cards, and listening to polka, Christian & old-time country music. Shirley and her husband of 71 years, Moe, especially loved spending time with family, which brought them endless joy. Shirley and Moe traveled often to visit their grandchildren and attend their sporting events and school activities. They enjoyed vacationing at Lake Florida in Spicer, MN, along with their many travels in the USA and abroad.
Shirley Weber, age 91, died at The Maples in Springfield, MN on May 3, 2023.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Susan (Gary) Augustin of Fremont, NE, Julie (Michael) Broker of St. Cloud, Janice (Richard) Schmitz of New Ulm and Helen Weber of Roseville; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Ines Trebesch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moe; parents, Lydia and William Bast; sisters, Mildred, Evelyn and Marlene; brothers-in-law, Charles (Ruth), Willis (Margaret), Curtis (Marlene); sisters-in-law, Arliss (Rob) Block and Phyliss (Leander) Vogel.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s preference.
A special thank you to the staff and new friends at The Maples where Shirley resided the last four months and Allina Hospice for their care.
