Shirley Sizer

Shirley Mae Sutherland was born June 25, 1931 on the family farm in Midway Township, Cottonwood County, MN, the daughter of Ray and Hulda (Goossen) Sutherland. She grew up in the Butterfield area where she graduated from the Butterfield High School in 1949. On July 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Patrick Sizer in Springfield. The couple made their home on the family farm near St. James where they raised their family. Shirley was an active member of the United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Shirley loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children; Scott Sizer (Marcia Poulson) of St. James, Mary (Roger) Nelson of Britt, Clay Sizer of Odin, Todd (Clarice) Sizer of St. James, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister; Marion Taylor of Coon Rapids, brother; Kerry Sutherland of Clearwater, FL, sister-in-law; Ann Sutherland of St. James, brothers-in-law; Jim (Judy) Sizer of St. James, Vince Style of St. James, and numerous nieces and nephews.
