Shirley Moll

Shirley Moll 87, passed away Monday, May 6th at her home in Apache Junction, Arizona. Shirley Helen Kranz Schwerzler Moll was born April 14, 1926 to Hugo and Martha Schmidt Kranz in rural Brookville Township Redwood County, Minnesota. She attended School District 34 in rural Brookville through the 8th grade and graduated from Springfield High School in 1945. She married Leon Dale Schwerzler of Morgan on September 29, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield. They lived in Morgan for 33 years. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Barbara Lee and son, Thomas Lee and a daughter who died at infantcy. Shirley worked at the Morgan telephone office and later as a secretary, for her husband Leon, at 4 Square Builders. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Morgan and served with the Ladies Aid. She treasured visiting with family and friends and meeting new people, as well as enjoyed playing Bridge, golfing, traveling the United States, Europe, Hawaii and Mexico. Shirley's husband Leon passed away suddenly in 1979. She later moved to Springfield and built a home on Clarke Street. In 1982, she married Gerald Moll of Sanborn, Minnesota and they lived in Springfield till after retirement and then moved to Apache Junction, Arizona permanently. They enjoyed coming back to Minnesota in June and July to spend time in Winona and Springfield to be with relatives and friends. Gerald passed away in November 2011. Surviving Shirley are her children Barbara Lee (Robert King) of Gold Canyon, Arizona, her granddaughter, Kimberlee Bluhm of Morgan and great grandchildren Quincy and Tawnee of Redwood Falls. Thomas (Arlene) Schwerzler of Winona, MN and grandchildren Theodore of Blaine, MN and Amanda Schwerzler of Menomonie, WI. Stepson James (Cathy) Moll of Milwaukee, WI, step-grandchildren Andrew, Meghan and Elizabeth. Step-daughter Nadene Moll of Sanborn and many nieces and nephews and relatives. She was preceeded in death by husband Leon Schwerzler, infant daughter, husband Gerald Moll, sisters Dailia Klabunde, Clara Klabunde, Violia Hansen, Esther Timm and Lucille Martius, brothers Marvin Kranz and Raymond Kranz and her parents.
